About Gregg Barcus

Gregg Barcus has nearly 30 years of executive leadership experience in the entrepreneurial and technology communities in Iowa. In his career, he has been a managing partner in seed and growth stage investment companies, as well as a consultant and advisor in business and corporate development and growth, capitalization strategies and execution, and technology transfer.

Throughout his career, he has provided strategic, managerial and board level assistance to dozens of early and growth stage companies in Iowa through both C-Suite corporate positions and his private business consulting practice. These activities have allowed him to develop seamless state-wide relationships with the private, public and educational sectors of the state.


For the past six years, he has served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Iowa, where he works with researchers and clinicians with proprietary Intellectual Property who are seeking to commercialize products and services based on that IP. In this position, he instructs and mentors budding technology entrepreneurs utilizing best practices and methodologies at the local, regional and national levels. As part of this work, he has accompanied and advised five research teams participating in NSF National I-Corps cohorts. For the past five years, he has also served as a Business Advisor with the national Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business (10KSB) Program.
